How the standards work together

The six standards aren’t a checklist. They form a coherent picture of a provider that is genuinely connected to the world its learners are entering.

Read and Respond are about intelligence: knowing what’s happening in the world learners are heading into, and having the courage and the processes to act on it.

Root and Reach are about connection: depth of relationship with your communities, and breadth of opportunity for the learners within them.

Equip is about what learners actually take away - not just qualifications, but the confidence and adaptability to keep going as world changes around them.

Include runs through all five other standards, asking whether every learner benefits, not just those already well-positioned. Strength across five standards isn’t enough if only some learners are served. Include keeps the framework honest.

How we assess

Each standard is supported by a set of criteria and a set of key indicators.

The indicators are illustrative, not exhaustive. Providers don’t need to produce every item on a list! What matters is the substance of the practice, not the format of the documentation.

Accreditation levels

Learning Post Accreditation is granted at one of three levels: Learning Post Accredited, Learning Post Accredited with Distinction, or Learning Post Accredited with Excellence.

Providers can move between levels, recognising improvements and progress across time.
